Dr. Haleo has practiced optometry for more than 30 years with special emphasis on binocular vision development, vision rehabilitation and sports vision in both children and adults.

Dr. Haleo received his Doctor of Optometry from the prestigious Southern California College of Optometry after receiving both a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and honored with Phi Theta Kappa status early in his academic pursuits.

Clinical Training, extensive and broad...

He received his early clinical training at the Optometric Clinic of Fullerton, the Los Angeles Eye Clinic, Veterans Administration Hospital of Los Angels and at the U.S. Naval Base at Long Beach and the Nevada Rehabilitation Center, Services for the blind. Dr. Haleo returned to the east coast to continue his studies of vision's role in learning in the school-aged child at the Gesell Institute of Human Development at Yale, New Haven, Connecticut. Pursued Fellowship Training in Binocular Vision Development and Perception from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, Clinical Diplomat in Glaucoma in 1995, S.U.N.Y. School of Optometry, New York

Over the past 30 years, Dr. Haleo has served on staff of many health care facilities as an optometrist, consultant and educator.

Active Professional, Pioneer & Recognized Leader

Dr. Haleo was a charter member of his profession's Low Vision Section for vision rehabilitation, Editor in Chief of the Sports Vision Section of the American Optometric Association, Chairman of the New England Council of Optometrists, State Representative to N.E.C.O., member of the Optometric Extension Program, A.O.A., C.A.O and C.O.V.D.

He pioneered international, award winning, original research using holographic depth in non-binocular patients and has made this one of his areas of clinical expertise.

Since 1983, Dr. Haleo has more than 10 times been the recipient of the Optometric Recognition Award by the American Optometric Association.

Professional Interests

Dr. Haleo concentrates his clinical care to the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and management of children and adults who struggle with academic success, executive function and the visual-spatial problems associated with learning, learning disabilities, ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, strokes, head injuries, neurological insults and age related, macular degeneration.

Dr. Haleo offers Sports Specific Vision Enhancement Programs for athletic enthusiasts of all ages who wish to improve sports performance at Golf, Tennis, Soccer, Baseball, hunting and skiing.
